CNN-News18 learnt that Sonam actively helped the three contract killers in disposing off her husband’s body.

As the investigation in the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case continues and the Special Investigation Team is questioning the accused, a photo of the four men — Raj Kushwaha, Akash Rajput, Vishal Singh Chauha and Anand Kurmi — in custody has been accessed by CNN-News18.
According to the police, Sonam had hired the three hitmen – Akash, Vishal and Anand – for murdering her husband and Raj, her lover, was the main conspirator. All five accused have been arrested and are in police custody.
In the photo, the man dressed in a white shirt and blue denims – on the extreme left – is Raj, Sonam’s boyfriend. He was not present in Meghalaya when the murder took place, but according to the police, he is the main conspirator.
Anand (biege-coloured t-shirt) and Akash (black t-shirt) sitting next to Raj were the two hitmen hired to kill Raja. On the extreme right is Vishal Thakur, who was the first one to attack Raja, as per the police.
Raj Kushwaha, Akash Rajput, Vishal Singh Chauha and Anand Kurmi – these are the four men who helped Sonam Raghuvanshi kill her husband, Raja, in Meghalaya last month, days after their wedding in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore.
Sonam Confessed to The Murder
Days after Raja’s body was recovered from a canal, Sonam confessed to murdering her husband after the SIT probing the case confronted her with evidence. According to sources, Sonam’s statement will not be recorded in front of the magistrate and her confession will be officially taped.
CNN-News18 learnt that Sonam actively helped the three contract killers in disposing off her husband’s body. Shillong Police DIG David NR Mark confirmed that Sonam was present at the murder spot and helped the killers dispose off Raja’s body into a ditch.
In addition to this, the police official informed that Sonam also conducted multiple internet searches about the murder location and possible dump spots of the crime.
Sonam Raghuvanshi, along with other accused in the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case, were interrogated by the Meghalaya Police Special Investigation Team (SIT) on Wednesday at the Sadar Police Station in Shillong.
Sonam’s Family Backs Raja’s Family, Breaks Ties With Her
Sonam’s brother, Govind Raghuvanshi, said his lawyers would fight against Sonam and he would also apologise to Raja Raghuvanshi’s mother for their loss. Govind added that his family would stand with Raja’s family to get Sonam punished.
Sonam Raghuvanshi was arrested for allegedly orchestrating the murder of her husband, Raja Raghuvanshi, during their honeymoon in Meghalaya.
She was brought to Shillong under tight security late on Tuesday. Four other accused — Raj Kushwaha, Sonam’s alleged lover and the mastermind, along with Anand Kurmi, Akash Rajput, and Vishal Singh Chauhan — were also brought to the Meghalaya capital earlier in the day.
The case took a massive turn after she surrendered before police in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghazipur on June 7.
