In a deeply disturbing incident from rural Rajkot, Gujarat, two friends—25-year-old Saurav Solanki and 33-year-old Sunil Makwana—were found dead on a railway track after allegedly falling asleep with their heads on the rails. Their severely mutilated bodies were discovered on Wednesday morning along the Mahuva-Khokhradal Phatak railway line near Korat Chowk.
Police from the Shapar Veraval station arrived at the scene, completed preliminary formalities, and sent the bodies for post-mortem examinations. Afterwards, the remains were handed over to the bereaved families.
According to reports, the two men had left work on Tuesday evening on motorcycles but never reached home. Their families, alarmed by their absence, began searching for them through the night. Saurav had reportedly told his family he was on a night shift, while the circumstances of why they stopped near the railway tracks remain unclear.
Investigators suspect the duo may have unintentionally fallen asleep on the tracks and were hit by a passing train.
Saurav, the youngest of five siblings, was unmarried. Sunil, a father to a young daughter, had already endured personal tragedy—his brother died in a road accident just 18 months ago.
