A Mumbai man was booked for animal cruelty after a viral video showed him throwing a cat to its death from the ninth floor of his building.

A case was registered against a man in Mumbai on charges of animal cruelty after he threw a cat down the ninth floor of a building.
A video of the man, identified as Kasam Syed, throwing a cat down a window was widely shared on social media.
According to multiple reports, the cat died after it landed on a metal sheet.
The video showed the cat in the lobby of a building. It soon hops onto a cupboard kept near it.
A man could then be seen approaching the elevator. However, he turns to the cat, lifts it, and throws it down the building.
The accused was identified as a resident of the same building, residing on the ninth floor, from where he threw the cat.
Meanwhile, the video triggered reactions from social media users, who demanded strict action against him for claiming the life of the poor animal.
