The Centre has finalised the relocation of several central ministries and departments to the newly constructed Common Central Secretariat Building (CCS-03), located at Kartavya Path, New Delhi. This move is part of the broader Central Vista redevelopment project, aimed at optimising infrastructure and streamlining government operations.

As per an Office Memorandum issued by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, the relocation will take place in a phased manner. Each ministry and department have been allotted specific floors and room numbers in the new Secretariat.

The Ministry of Home Affairs, currently based at North Block, has been allotted the largest office space, spread across three floors — 4th, 5th, and 6th floors.

The Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser, currently at Vigyan Bhawan Annexe, has been allotted space on the 3rd floor.

The Ministry of External Affairs, functioning from South Block and Shastri Bhawan, will also be relocated to the 3rd floor.

The Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas will move to the Ground floor.

The Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), which functions under the Prime Minister’s Office, will be relocated to the Upper Ground Floor and 1st Floor of CCS-03, with multiple room allocations.

The Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) will be housed on the 2nd floor, along with the Office of the Development Commissioner, which is being moved from Nirman Bhawan.

Additionally, the Ministry of Rural Development will shift from Krishi Bhawan, and the Department of Land Resources will move to the 2nd floor of the new building.

To ensure a smooth transition, the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) has established a facilitation desk to assist with inventories, services, space familiarisation, and security protocols.

All ministries have been asked to appoint nodal officers to coordinate the move in collaboration with the facilitation centre.

This relocation marks a major step toward consolidating government offices into a unified, modern, and efficient infrastructure.
